What are negative ions and what do they do?
Negative ions help freshen and purify the air by causing allergens such as pollen, mold spores, dust and animal dander floating in the air to be attracted and stick to each other.

These clumps of particles then become heavy enough that gravity can pull them down to the floor, rather than staying suspended in the air where they can be breathed in and potentially cause an allergic reaction.
