HOW IT WORKS:
Why UV light technology?
UV-C light technology is proven to kill common germs on surfaces, in the air and in water. It is highly effective at penetrating thin-walled viruses and bacteria known to cause: staph, pneumonia, tuberculosis, bronchitis and meningitis. The light alters the genetic structure of the germs and they die. Titanium Dioxide (Ti02) in the combination filter is activated by the UV light to help fight the growth of bacteria, germs and mold. It also decomposes odor molecules caused by smoking, cooking and pets.
Do I need to replace any filters?
Yes. It is recommended that you change the High Performance Filter every 6-9 months depending on use to maintain an optimal level of air purification in your home.
Where should I use the product?
This product is recommended for indoor use only. Most people like to put the unit in rooms of their house where they spend the most amount of time such as the living room, bedroom and kitchen areas. It's great to have with you at work too.

RegisterI bought the AC4020 for my tiny bathroom, and it fits in a tight space well. But I really can't tell if it's doing anything, because I still have the AC4100 in an adjacent room, and another being delivered tomorrow. If you have space for that one, I'd recommend it over the AC4020, if you don't mind a louder fan. There is an additional reason I prefer the AC4020, and you'll probably get a kick out of this. I use that one for air circulation and air quality, but it doubles for white noise. I live in the city, and the nights get louder all the time. Two of these will do double duty in the bedroom....better than ear plugs! I love the Guardian products. My first one, a floor model, AC4825 I've had about 2 years; when the noise ratcheted up, I discovered it was also a good white noise machine. The AC4100 actually has a better fan than it's larger cousin, the AC4825, but I still use it in other rooms to circulate the air conditioning. It's rated about twice the square footage for air purifying. Overall, I love the products.
Works great for odors, smoke, vapor, and dust. I purchased an expensive Whirlpool without the UV and all it did was circulate smelly air. This machine really made a difference, a noticeable difference. You won't be disappointed, you'll know its working right away.
3/4 people in my house are allergic to cats. We put this in our living room, and as long as our cat doesn't stand on them, they can breathe normally and have had no trouble in the 2 months it's been here. I have another one in my bedroom, because allergies sometimes make it hard to sleep, and the difference in air quality is noticeable immediately. It does dry out the air a little bit, so I turn it off in my bedroom every 3-7 days for one night.
Has been running in my small room for a couple months now. I've noticed a real change in dust and my allergies.
