An ultrasonic humidifier is virtually silent when operating.
Why should I use a humidifier?
People need a certain level of humidity to be comfortable. In the winter, indoor humidity can be extremely low, and the lack of humidity can dry out your skin and mucous membranes. Low humidity also makes the air feel colder than it actually is. Dry air can also dry out the wood in the walls and floors of our houses. As the drying wood shrinks, it can cause creaks in floors and cracks in drywall and plaster. Dry air also increases static electricity.
Does the product require regular cleaning?
Regular cleaning is recommended; approximately every 1–2 weeks (depending on use). When storing the unit, it is recommended to pour any excess water out and clean it with a soft, damp cloth. Let dry completely before storing.
Are there any wicks or evaporating pads to replace?
No. There are no wicks or pads to replace.
What is ultrasonic technology?
An ultrasonic humidifier uses a metal diaphragm vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency to create water droplets. Thanks to ultrasonic technology the Guardian Technologies™ humidifier is virtually silent when running, allowing you to keep it on while you sleep.
What is Silver Clean™ technology, and why is it used in your humidifier?
Unlike other humidifiers that grow slimy mold and mildew, the Guardian Technologies™ PureGuardian® 100-Hour Ultrasonic Humidifier uses Silver Clean™ technology embedded in the tank to fight the growth of mold and mildew on the surface of the water tank.
What size room will the humidifier work in?
Thanks to the adjustable spray feature, this humidifier works well in both large and small rooms.
What is a comfortable humidity level?
Forty to fifty-five percent (40–55%) humidity is considered within the comfortable range. Any humidity level below thirty percent (30%) is considered dry.
Therefore, if you live in a warm climate, you may prefer a cool moisture humidifier, while those who live in colder climates may prefer a warm moisture humidifier.
Do I need to heat the water first if I want to have warm humidification?
No. It is recommended to put room temperature water into the tank for humidifying. The Guardian Technologies™ humidifier will heat and maintain the water temperature for warm humidification.
Do I need to put in a certain type of water for my humidifier to work?
You can use either distilled or regular tap water. If you have a high mineral content in your tap water, it may be preferable to use distilled water. Since distilled water is likely to contain lower mineral content than most tap water, it will prevent less build-up.
How long is the warranty?
The warranty is 3-years limited. For detailed warranty specifications please refer to the warranty section in the instruction manual.
The device chimes when you select each feature. Is there a way to turn the sound off?
There is not an option to turn the sound off
Can you pick up the item by the handle on the tank?
This humidifier is not meant to be picked up by the handle on the water tank. Instead, please pick up from the bottom of the unit.
Why are there two different openings?
This unit was designed with two different options to fill the tank. Since this device is a tower design, it may not fit under a faucet vertically. You now have the option to turn it horizontally to fill.
Where is this humidifier meant to be placed?
This tower humidifier is meant to be placed on the floor. Please do not place on any uneven surfaces
Why does my humidifier produce white dust and how do I get rid of it?
The white dust is not harmful in any way, it is simply minerals from the water used to fill the humidifier. To avoid this, we suggest using distilled water to fill the tank, or we offer the FLTDC20 Demineralization Cartridge. When using this cartridge, we recommend placing it in the opening at the bottom of the tank.

Really happy with this product. Its excellent, easy to use design makes everything so simple. It takes up minimal space in my bedroom and greatly helps me sleep at night by relieving the dry air. Definitely worth the money!
This humidifier is great in terms of design and functionality. It's ultra silent although you'll hear water gargling sounds once in a while. That's expected of any product with a water tank so I don't mind. I love the time settings (4,8,12 hours) and how you can control the amount of humidity (low, medium, high). I also use regular tap water (note: I live in NYC), and I don't experience any problem with "white dust". I highly recommend this product!
Flow & Go
I've always liked the idea of humidifiers, but for me they have been hit or miss. They either work well or they just don't work at all for me. In my part of the world, humidity is an issue, so this is a Godsend. As a child I didn't like humidifiers because they made too much noise. This however, is wonderfully silent. This is a far cry (no pun intended) from the annoying noisemakers from days gone by.
The PureGuardian is very easy to fill and adjust. The mist comes out immediately and can be regulated by the three standard settings, low, medium and high. It also comes equipped with a cleaning brush to keep the vents clean and the air flowing.
Towering design offers a smaller footprint than many other models
Humidifiers can spit and drip and become a general nuisance, or they can run out of water before you turn around even when operating at the lowest level. This model by PureGuardian is the second style I have and I think this design is my preference due to the smaller footprint of its towering style. Like with the other humidifiers I've used over the past dozen years, this one has a separate vessel for water which is separated from the base for filling and emptying, and this one can be carried pretty easily even when filled to the limit. It snaps into the base with ease and despite being pretty drip proof, I keep my unit on a flat tray just in case. Must protect the hardwood floor! The instructions provide a number of don't do's and I've tried to follow the guidance. I use filtered water and expect that the brush will work well for cleaning this one as well as it has with my other model. I also periodically clean it with vinegar added to water and will do the same when necessary with this model. The operation is very quiet, increasing in volume with the increase is misting. The buttons on the unit are intuitive, so it's not necessary to reference the manual for any desired changes. Not a fan of blue lights, I am happy that the curved one on this model can be turned off quickly. I've been running this constantly since it arrived on the lowest mist and it is on the second day with plenty of water remaining. One hint for any of these humidifiers, ultrasonic or other, is that they will get grungy if water remains in the unit without the humidifier being used for more than a few days. Empty it and dry well for down times.

A great solution for providing more comfortable sleeping!
"One of the things we have been seeking is a more personal humidifier for our bedroom. This is really filling that need. We have a larger humidifier in the main area of our home and it works very well, but when you have a bedroom which is not open to the rest of the house you need a supplemental source of humidity and this is something which does that. The output and silence is a great feature since it will be running when we are sleeping in close proximity.
We live in the desert and it gets very dry in the winter here since we have to heat at night. Really like this and it is very attractive as well."
